Tools you will need

An SD card
An adapter (if your computer does not have an SD card slot)
The firmware file downloaded from the Wyze website

Steps to Flash Firmware on a Wyze Cam V3

Here are the steps to flash firmware on a Wyze Cam V3:

Format the SD card to FAT32
- The first step is to format the SD card to FAT32. You can do this on your computer.
Download the firmware file
- Download the firmware file from the Wyze website. Make sure to get the correct firmware for your camera model (Wyze Cam V3 in this case). Extract the downloaded file.
Copy the firmware file to the SD card
- Once you have formatted the SD card and downloaded the firmware file, copy the firmware file onto the SD card. Be sure to rename the firmware file to “demo.bin” if you are flashing a Wyze Cam V2. For the Wyze Cam V3, you do not need to rename the firmware file.
Insert the SD card into the Wyze Cam
- Once the firmware file is on the SD card, eject the SD card from your computer and insert it into your Wyze Cam.
Hold down the setup button and connect the camera to power
- While the SD card is inserted, hold down the setup button on the camera and then connect the camera to power. Keep holding the setup button until the camera’s light changes from red to purple. Then, release the setup button.
The camera will now start flashing the firmware
- The camera will now start flashing the firmware. This process can take up to three to four minutes.
Reset the camera
- After the firmware flashing process is complete, you can reset the camera and set it up again with your phone. To reset the camera, press and hold the setup button until the camera’s light turns red. Then, release the setup button.
Set up the camera with your phone
- To set up the camera with your phone, open the Wyze app and follow the on-screen instructions. Once the setup process is complete, you should be able to view your camera’s live feed on your phone.
