The policy for cancellation and refunds
There's no contract to keep you paying for many years to come.
The subscription is automatically renewed every month or year, depending on your chosen plan, but you can cancel the contract.
The annual plan is eligible for a prorated refund, which means you can cancel the subscription at any time and receive your money back for the remaining months you paid in advance.

How the Ring monitoring system works
After signing for the Ring Protect Plus, the Ring monitoring center will receive the alarm generated by the local alarm system and call you to confirm the emergency.
You can have emergency contacts registered into the system and a passcode that you can use when communicating with an agent.
The agent can dispatch the necessary services to your location when the emergency is confirmed.
Be aware that the agent needs to have somebody answer the call to confirm the alarm; otherwise, the emergency services will be dispatched to the location. Sometimes, it's just a false alarm.
