The Alexa light notification
Alexa devices use light notifications to let you know their status and warn you about something you may want to be aware of.
As you have a concern about the red light, let's keep the focus on it.
The solid red ring indicates that the microphone is muted, and Alexa can't hear voice commands. It's also possible to see that that the mic button is red as well.
The picture below shows an example of the red ring on an echo device.
Press the mic button to unmute the device, and the red ring disappears.
