In this article, I show how to reset the Echo Flex to factory default.
The reset is very simple and takes less than 5 minutes.
The step-by-step reset process
Make sure the device is connected to the Internet.
Follow the steps to reset the Echo Flex to the factory default settings.
- Press the mute button;
- Check if the LED is amber;
- Press and hold the action button for 20 seconds;
- Release the action button;
- Setup the device from scratch
Don't disconnect the device from power during the reset process.

Notice that it's necessary to keep pressing after you hear the first message.
It takes around 10 seconds to get into setup mode, but that's not what you want.
Keep your finger in the button for around 20 seconds until you hear the second message that clearly says "resetting your device".
Why reset the device ?
People usually reset the Echo Flex to sell it to somebody else.
The device unregister itself from the Amazon account.
Other reasons may include a frozen or irresponsive device.
