Is Nest Thermostat Easy to Install ?

I decided to replace my LuxPro thermostat with a smart one, and the first question that came into my mind was, "Is the Nest Thermostat easy to install? "

My main concern was about the wiring and the device compatibility with my HVAC system, but after some research, I realized that it could work, so I gave it a try.

So, to answer the question, yes, the Nest Thermostat is easy to install, and I could replace my LuxPro and go over the setup in about 30 minutes.

My Old thermostat

I was a bit nervous about removing my old thermostat (LuxPro) and installing the Nest because I have no experience with air conditioners, but that was OK.

The wiring looks scary at first, but you can use an online tool to check the device's compatibility based on the wires your current thermostat uses.

The pictures below show the LuxPro thermostat.

As you can see, there are 6 wires connected to the thermostat, but one of them (the black one) is a jumper between the RC and RH connectors.

You just need to enter the information in the compatibility check to make sure your system is compatible. See the pictures below...

You just need to inform what are the wires and jumper you see in your system.
