How to change the screensaver on my LG TV

You’ve undoubtedly noticed that your LG TV arrived with a pre-programmed screen saver. In this article, you’ll learn to change LG TV’s screensaver.

Suppose you don’t like the one that came with it or want to explore what else is out there. You might be scratching your head and wondering if you can change it. If it’s possible, how do you go about doing it?

Technically, the screensaver that came with your LG TV cannot be changed. You may, however, set it to a mode that shows pre-programmed photographs in a slide presentation.

To do so, simply go to the gallery on your TV and choose the photographs you want it to cycle through.

How can I turn on/off the screen saver on my LG TV?

In most cases, LG TVs come with a screen saver turned on in the settings.

However, this is not always the case. If you’re wondering about altering your LG TV‘s screen saver or if one doesn’t appear at all, the methods below will assist you in doing so:

On your LG TV remote, there should be a menu button. Press the menu button to launch the menu

It’s supposed to be a gear symbol on a button. The term “menu” is printed under the button on some versions, while others merely have the gear icon.

Go to the settings of your LG TV. Scroll through the menu until you locate the options you want, then choose them. Find and open the General Settings.

Once there, locate a Screen Saver. If your TV has a screen saver, you should be able to find it here. To turn it on, go through the options until you locate “Screen Saver” and pick it.

Please keep in mind that this method will also work if you want to know how to alter your screensaver because you want to turn it off. It’s also worth noting that not all LG TVs enable you to toggle off or on your screen saver.

If you completed all of these instructions and still didn’t see a screen saver option, your model probably does not have a screensaver.

Is it possible to change LG TV’s screensaver?

So, while you can’t change LG TV’s screensaver, can you add a new one? Unfortunately, you can’t add new screensavers to an LG TV right now.

The only screensaver choice is the one that comes pre-programmed with the TV. Even so, a workaround allows you to display different pictures while you aren’t watching TV, similar to how a regular screensaver works.

Is it True That I Can’t Change the Screensaver on My LG TV?

Even though plenty of users would like to change LG TV’s screensaver, it is still not something available. Thus, the screensaver on your LG TV cannot be adjusted or changed.

It’s limited to turning it on and off in your settings. Still, another option works similarly to a screensaver but requires manual activation.

You may use your television’s OLED gallery instead of a screensaver to cycle through different pre-programmed images like a slideshow.

Go to the main menu and access the gallery itself to enable your OLED image gallery. Choose the photographs you wish to cycle through and click “OK.”

This will start a slide show in the background, which you may enjoy when you’re not really watching TV. It will work similarly to a standard screensaver in terms of functionality.

How to Put a Photo Gallery on Display

Even though you can’t change LG TV’s screensaver, it may be set into a picture gallery mode that is similar to certain classic screensavers. To accomplish this, just display the OLED gallery photos.

Most LG TVs come with a series of digital photographs called OLED gallery images that demonstrate the visual quality and clarity of the TV. You can’t upload any photographs to the gallery itself, unfortunately.

To be clear, this will only start a slideshow of photographs that came with the television. The advantage is that it offers far more variation than a pre-programmed screensaver.

This will be like the images you see when you purchase a TV, and it is displayed with various pictures that continue to change from time to time.

The instructions below will show you how to access the pre-programmed OLED photo gallery on your LG TV:

  1. To return to the previous screen, press the home button. This should bring up a menu that you may navigate through using your remote.
  2. Locate “Gallery” and choose your favorite images. While you won’t be able to add new photographs, you will be able to choose which ones to show.
  3. Simply scroll through your photos and pick the ones you wish to include in your presentation.
  4. Choose OK. When you click OK, it should start cycling through your chosen photographs.

Please keep in mind that you will have to activate this manually. If you want your TV’s photo gallery to appear while you’re not watching it, you’ll have to input it each time.

Fortunately, as you can see from the instructions above, the procedure takes less than a minute to complete.

Final Thoughts

You might be upset to learn that you can’t change LG TV’s screensaver. However, there is a small workaround that could be displayed on your TV.

Hopefully, this feature will be added to future LG TVs, but for now, you can rely on the OLED image gallery to play around with your screen saver.
