Wyze Camera is not responding to Alexa

Suddenly the Wyze Camera is not responding to Alexa.

Everything was working fine. What could be the problem?

Usually, the problem arises when there's a change on the camera, such as a new name, a firmware update or perhaps some issue with the Alexa skills.

Most of the time the fast solution to fix the problem with a Wyze Camera that is not responding to Alexa is to start all over and do the setup again.

How to fix the Alexa not responding problem

OK, usually you got some message from Alexa to let you know that is not working.

Something similar to this

"The skill linked to  front door is not enabled, please enable the skill to control this device"

Of course, Alexa will tell you the camera name you are using.

Let's see an example with my camera named "Kitchen".

When I checked the settings on my Alexa App the camera was enabled.

But still, I couldn't make it work and got the message...

"The skill linked to kitchen is not enabled, please enable the skill to control this device"

Fortunately, the solution was very simple and I could solve the problem quickly.

I deleted the kitchen camera from Alexa and started the setup again.

And voilá, I have my Wyze Cam back working with Alexa. Isn't cool?

How to set up the Wyze Camera on Alexa

Here are the steps to delete and add the Wyze Cam to Alexa... 

Open the Alexa App on your mobile.

Click on " Devices"  

In the next screen click on "cameras"

Select the camera and click on the delete button.

Click "DELETE" to confirm you want to delete the camera.

A confirmation message is shown on the screen.

To add the Wyze cam to the Alexa App, click the "+" sign.

Click "Add Device"

Select the camera.

Follow the instructions and click continue.

Enter your Wyze credentials to authenticate.

And that's all, now your Wyze Camera should be responding to Alexa.
