What is the ADT error code FC?
"FC" stands for "Failed to communicate" which means your ADT system has an issue communicating with the monitoring center.
The "FC" message error is displayed on the Honeywell Vista or Lynx panels.

The "Fail to communicate" issue is caused by some of the reasons.
- Phone wiring not working;
- Panel with incorrect phone wiring;

- Service disconnected;

As you can see, there are different reasons for your ADT alarm system to show the error. You can check every one of them to find out what the problem is.
How to fix the ADT FC error
You need to investigate what could be the cause of the problem.
Sometimes is something simple such as a disconnected or broken wire.
Follow the steps to find out and fix the error.
- Check if the phone wiring is correctly connected to the panel;
- Make sure the line is working;
- Look for possible sources of interference;
- Double-check the configuration and dial number.
Believe it or not, there were cases where the service was no longer working just because the bill was not paid on time, so you need to check that as well.
The worst-case scenario is damaged equipment that needs to be replaced.
Contact your ADT dealer if that's the case.
Reset the panel to clear the message
After fixing the problem, the next step is to clear the FC error message.
You just need to disarm the alarm and the error message goes away.
Here are the steps.
- Enter your System Master Code in the keypad;
- Press 1 (off);
- Repeat the process.
Now you may have your ADT alarm system back to normal.
Just arm the alarm again and you are good to go 😉
